Welcome to Double K Longhorns

We're a family owned and operated cattle ranch that specializes in raising high-quality registered Texas Longhorns for breeding stock, exhibition, pasture art, and beef production.

During our first 10 years in the industry, we've built a foundation herd that not only looks good in our pasture, but that we believe will help meet our breeding goals.  Because we believe single-trait breeding is detrimental to the breed, we prioritize production and conformation above all other traits.

The ranch is situated on 2,000 acres just outside of Junction, TX.  It's comprised of the fertile Gentry Creek valley, deep draws, rugged hills and rock outcroppings.  Native pecan, red oak, live oak, sycamore, and cedar elm are plentiful.  Native whitetail deer, Rio Grande turkey, Bobwhite quail, and several species of dove can be found here, as well as, non-native species such as axis, fallow, and red deer.  

Since purchasing the land in 2012, we've worked hard to restore it to its original beauty and functionality by clearing the invasive mountain cedar and many other undesirable species that prevented native grasses from flourishing.  Conservation and sustainability are a priority at Double K.  We utilize prescribed burning to enhance the agricultural production and wildlife habitat, practice rotational grazing, and closely monitor stocking rates in order to be good stewards of the land.
